Description

Delicious Cheese Puff Pastry Pinwheels made with puff pastry, cheese and Italian herbs are perfect appetizers for parties or for short notice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pk Puff Pastry Sheets (thawed)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 1 pk chopped frozen spinach (thawed)
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup Feta cheese (grated)
  • 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese (grated)
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Unfold the pastry sheet on a lightly flowered surface. Roll out thawed pastry to flatten and stretch it slightly. Brush pastry with oil.
  2. Thaw chopped frozen spinach.  Drain all liquid from the thawed spinach.
  3. Sprinkle with the Feta, Cheddar and Parmesan cheese and herbs.
  4. Starting at a short side, roll up the pastry. Wrap the pastry roll with plastic wrap and place it on the fridge for 1 hour or until firm.
  5. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Remove from refrigerator & remove plastic wrap. Using a sharp knife cut the pastry roll into 1/2 inch slices. Place slices on baking sheet. Lightly brush tops with egg wash. Sprinkle with white sesame seeds. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Remove from oven and serve.

Notes

Cheese Puff Pastry Pinwheels are the best if baked 1-2 hours before serving. You can make these ahead for a later date. Wrap the roll with plastic wrap and place in the freezer until ready to use. Take them out of the freezer and let them thaw for 30 minutes or until you can cut the roll into slices. Bake at 375 degrees.
